Earlier this week, Nathan Atkinson, who specialises in AI and Machine Learning as part of Cinven’s portfolio team, spoke at the PEI Operating Partners Forum in London on the topic of driving digital and AI transformation for SaaS companies. Nathan’s remarks covered the approach we've taken to collaborate with several of the SaaS businesses in our portfolio on digital product innovation. He also shared thoughts on AI in the UX for SaaS companies using examples of the approaches we have seen across our portfolio. He spoke about developer productivity and how that is shifting operational efficiencies at SaaS businesses as well as how some companies are thinking through the challenge of pricing models for AI features and services. And finally, he reflected on how we have approached AI governance across the Cinven portfolio in the light of new regulations like EU AI act. #OPEU25 #PEIOP

Last week, we were delighted to be joined in our London office by Sir António Horta-Osório as part of a programme of events during Mental Health Awareness Week. In a conversation with our co-Managing Partner, Jorge Quemada Saenz-Badillos, António – a long-standing advocate for mental health awareness in leadership – shared candid reflections on his personal journey through burnout and recovery during his time as Global CEO of Lloyds Banking Group. Drawing on over three decades of global financial leadership across Citibank, Goldman Sachs, Santander, Lloyds, and Credit Suisse, António spoke passionately about the importance of resilience, rest, and what sustainable performance looks like in the fast-paced financial services environment.   We are very grateful to Antonio for sharing his experience and advice on this critical topic with us.

This week, a group of ~70 senior female leaders from across our portfolio of 40+ companies gathered in London for our ASCEND conference – our annual gathering of top talent from our inclusion network. Leaders from multiple regions, sectors and disciplines came together to debate live issues, share insights and learn from each other. The ASCEND network gets together virtually throughout the year for workshops and discussion around a variety of topics, but it is always a pleasure to meet in person and build a stronger network together.   Many thanks to everyone who attended and to the Cinven organising team.

Last week, our colleagues, Julia Kahr, Head of North America, and Supraj Rajagopalan, CEO and co-Managing Partner, attended the Milken Institute conference in LA. Julia participated in a panel on the New Age of Private Equity, during which she discussed how private equity is evolving in a rapidly changing environment. Supraj hosted a fireside chat with Gillian Tett as part of an Australian Investor event. They discussed a range of topical issues including the re-emergence of geo-economics as a subject, given the blurring of lines between trade, finance and military policies.   Thanks to the #MilkenInstitute for an energising few days of sharing insights, debating the key issues on investors’ minds, and connecting with friends, old and new.   #MIGlobal
